The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic is looking for foreign experts to perform evaluations in the first stage of a public tender for the Competence Centres programme. The two-stage public tender in research, development and innovations will be published by the summer of 2011.

Evaluations in the first stage of the public tender in research, development and innovations will be international and conducted in English. Two Czech and two foreign experts will evaluate each project proposal in the first stage of the public tender. Following the completion of the evaluation report, all four experts for a given project will meet for a consensual meeting in order to reach an agreement between all the experts regarding the final assessment of the given project proposal.

The second stage of the public tender will be organised in Czech, and each project proposal will be evaluated by three domestic experts who will all complete opponent reports without any consensual meeting.

• experts should highly qualified in the given area of research and development and should have a working experience in the field they are going to evaluate
• experts should be capable of a complex evaluation of project proposals, including its economic aspects
• experience with project evaluation or management in other programmes is welcome

The Technology Agency will assess the applications and include suitable candidates in the database of experts. The database will be divided according to the numeral classification of field groups and further in more detail according to the classification of branches in the CEP (The Central Register of R&D projects) in the R&D Information System of the Czech Republic. Applicants may select up to three main categories for which they believe to have sufficient qualifications to evaluate projects, and up to ten secondary categories.
