Within the framework of the Presidency of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) in the TAFTIE European network of innovation agencies, representatives of the innovation agencies’ branches met in Brussels on the 6th of June 2017 with representatives of TA CR. The Chairman of the Board of TA CR Petr Očko, together with Martin Bunček, Vice-Chairman of the Board of TA CR, took part in a closed meeting with Carlos Moedas, EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation. They also met the High-Level Group on maximizing the impact of EU Research and Innovation Programmes, the so-called Lamy’s group. This group is preparing not only an evaluation of the H2020 programme, but also a position for the next European Commission (EC) framework programme.
In terms of the intensity of the negotiations, both meetings were very important for the future of European research. In particular, the presentation of TAFTIE and TA CR as important partners for communicating and sharing experiences and opinions, not only for evaluating current EC activities (especially H2020), but mainly for setting the next framework programme, is of great benefit. This was confirmed by Commissioner Moeda’s request for regular meetings with representatives of TAFTIE agencies.
