KAPPA Programme: Call for Proposal announcement

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) in cooperation with the Research Council of Norway (RCN) announced a Call for Proposals of the KAPPA Programme for industrial research, experimental development and innovation (Programme) financed by EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms (EEA and Norway Grants) on 20 November 2019.

The announcement is in accordance with the Act No. 130/2002 Coll., on the Support of Research, Experimental Development and Innovation from Public Funds and on Amendments to Certain Related Acts; pursuant to the Framework for State Aid for Research and Development and Innovation – Official Journal of the European Union C 198, 27 June 2014; according to Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014, the Regulations on the Implementation of the EEA / Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and Guideline for Research Programmes.

The Call for Proposals focuses on the international cooperation of entities from the Czechia with partners from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein (Donor States) in applied research and on connecting research organizations with the application sphere, especially with small and medium-sized enterprises. The Call for Proposals is open to project proposals within all disciplines and topics of research, development and innovation. The Call for Proposals includes a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) component from Norway Grants.

The project proposal is submitted in English via the information system ISTA. Each project shall include the main applicant from Czechia and at least one project partner from Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein.

The deadline for project proposal submission starts on 21 November 2019 at 9:00:00 AM and ends on 27 February 2020 (98 days in total) at the following hours:

  • 4:30:00 PM – for the project proposal submitting via the ISTA information system;
  • 11:59:59 PM – for delivery of the Confirmation of Electronic Project Proposal Submission in ISTA in TA CR’s data box (official Czech electronic system for document delivery; sent by the main applicant). Data box  ID: afth9xp.

Detailed information necessary for the project proposal processing and submission, including information on the method and criteria of evaluation are contained in the Open Call and documents related to the call announcement. The English version is obligatory. The Czech translation of the documents is for informational and supporting purposes only and and will be published soon in the next few days.

The Opening conference and Matchmaking KAPPA will take place from 25 to 26 November 2019. The aim of the event is to acquaint the professional public with the call parametres and at the same time, to strengthen international cooperation between institutions from the Czechia, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. ELIMINATION OF CORRUPTION EFFECTS

In order to eliminate corruption effects during the calls for proposals in research, development and innovation, TA CR asks all applicants and project partners to inform TA CR without delay of any suspected corruption activity of which they become aware. Notification together with justification of the decisive facts can make it easier for TA CR to identify potential corruption efforts and eliminate them. Please send the notice to protikorupci@tacr.cz.
